Letter from the Head 2017-05-09T12:40:58+00:00

Dear Parents

At Wawne School we develop imagination and creativity. We ensure that each child is encouraged to become increasingly independent and confident, developing a positive attitude towards themselves, children, adults and the learning process.

We offer a learning environment with a wealth of opportunities and challenges. We provide a broad, balanced curriculum with a variety of experiences through the use of musicians, sport coaches, information technology, school visits and visitors and curriculum theme days.

The original school building was built in 1910. The school has spacious classrooms, wide corridors, a school kitchen and a large multi purpose school hall. There are large playgrounds and an extensive field from which children enjoy beautiful views over farmland towards Beverley Minster in the distance. Play equipment is provided by friends of Wawne School Association, an active and a friendly parent group.

Parental support and co-operation is vital to the smooth running of the school and we work hard to establish and maintain strong relationships between home and school. Parents receive regular newsletters and are invited to attend assemblies and parent consultation evenings. Members of staff are always on hand to informally chat with parents on the playground at the start and the end of the school day.

If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact me or Mrs Hutchinson in the school office.

Yours sincerely

Phil Sainter

Headteacher
